In light of Mother’s Day being observed yesterday, I would like to focus on the peculiar effort, especially in our country, to dismantle the objective reality of gender. Since the creation of mankind there have been two genders, male and female. Why? Because together they can sexually cohabit and procreate, producing the next generation of mankind. In fact, it was the initial command of God to Adam and Eve (a biological man and woman) to, “be fruitful and multiply,” Genesis 1:28.
The actress Bella Ramsey has recently invaded the media spotlight with her portrayal of a character, who, when she learns that her lesbian partner is pregnant with a man’s child, says, “I’m going to be a dad!” The manifest confusion is apparent. The issue of objective gender goes well beyond Bella Ramsey, who herself claims to be non-binary. And there is the rub. There is no biological example for non-binary in the human race. Transgenderism perverts the biological order by turning clear, medically verifiable facts on their head because someone FEELS differently than they actually are. The issue here is that, if I as a man suddenly claim I identify as a woman because I feel that way, that would be a lie. I have utterly no idea how a woman actually feels experientially. Why? Because I wasn’t born as one, and therefore do not know what it means to feel like a woman. Indulging in fantasy or delusion is one’s prerogative; no one can really stop you from doing so. But attempting to invoke judicial rights that coerce others to play along is tantamount to a school yard bully forcing the smaller kids to play the game “by his rules.” There is, or should not be, any law that compels a human being to recognize another for something they objectively are not.
In 1 Corinthians chapter 11, Paul takes the church to task over the roles of men and women. While he addresses hair length and hair covering, I don’t believe it is ultimately hair he is concerned with. In Paul’s time men would generally have short hair, while women had long hair, per gender norms. When a man grew his hair long, or a woman cut her hair short, it seemed to symbolize the move from conducting oneself in the way your biology dictates. In short, men were behaving effeminate in the church, while women asserted control over them in certain sects. It is certainly interesting to observe that in today’s cultural climate in my country, a strong woman that wants to exercise stereotypical masculine qualities cuts her hair very short, sometimes buzzing the sides for emphasis. It’s become a cliche at this point in modern media. The hair length was indicative of their temperament. The point being that gender norms are just that for the sake of clarity and order. Men and women are equal, but not identical. One cannot swap out one title for another without others noticing, and rightly calling them out for it. It is dishonest, and the erasure of clear gender delineation creates only confusion, which we see our youth swamped in today.
Confusing the gender roles leads to further confusion in general. Why? Because God built mankind to behave a certain way when it came to gender roles. There was a distinct, dare I say it, binary character to it. Men and women were complementary and distinct. Both had unique physical attributes that could be clearly noted without having to invoke vague and emotional explanations as to what they were, and why they felt that way. Everyone until the more recent generations knew what they were, because from birth we are one or the other, by God’s direct creative agency for the purpose of fulfilling His command on the earth. There is no need, nor is there room or reason for a third, fourth, fifth, etc, gender. Claiming that you are something because you identify with it looks to be a form of group psychosis, practiced like a newly arrived religion, whose tenets demand the sacrifice of the thinking, reasoning faculties of the mind to become part of the elite priesthood of the new gender normalcy.
It harkens back to the garden and the lie the serpent sold Eve, when he declared that Eve would be like God if she rebelled against His revealed truth and just practiced her own. She could “identify” as God! It didn’t work out so well for our first mother, and it won’t work out for anyone doggedly pursuing this fallacy, sold as an alternative to the cultural restrictions of simply being male or female and fulfilling the roles allotted because of this. Marrying, having children, and instilling in said children the core values of God’s truth so they may live wholesome and productive lives, strengthened to resist the lies of the enemy is not in fashion. Rather than striving to embrace and excel at the role given to each of us, little gods still fight to identify as something else, to their inevitable ruination and to no one’s gain.
Transgenderism and all gender renaming hijinx are a lie, a repackaged deception straight out of Eden and sadly picked up by many that, “saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise,” Genesis 3:6. But the Apostle John wrote about this scenario and warned his fellow believers, saying, “For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–is not of the Father but is of the world,” 1 John 2:16. Gender dysphoria is a myth, and in the wake of Mother’s Day, and every day hereafter, let us practice wisdom and recognize that there are two distinct genders on earth; there always have been, and only ever will be. Women, many of whom were celebrated yesterday because of the selfless love and care they exert as mothers, are one. Biology is God’s evidence that what He created cannot be overturned simply by human conceit. And we are certainly conceited if we genuinely believe even for a moment that by believing something sight unseen, it simply is reality; and this reality must be foisted and forced upon everyone, so we can share in the delusion, the group psychosis, that is gripping our country and culture. I pray the Lord that He, by His immeasurable grace, leads people out of this pit before it permanently destroys them, physically and spiritually.
