Questions and Answers

Q: Is Jesus truly the only way to God? Do all roads lead to Heaven?
A:I (Jesus) am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me, John 14:6. Wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it, Matthew 7:13-14.

Q:Is the Bible really God's word? What of other holy books?
A:All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers, John 10:8. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself," John 7:17.

Q:Why do I even need to be "saved?"
A:Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, Isaiah 59:2. The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law, 1st Corinthians 15:56. The wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23.

Q: What must I do to be saved?
A: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, Acts 16:31.

Q: How do I believe on Him?
A: Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God...That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, Romans 10:17, 9-10.

Q: What must I believe? What is the "gospel of Jesus Christ?"
A: Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures...so we preach, and so ye believed," 1st Corinthians 15:3-4, 11.

Q: Is there a work that must be done? How do I receive eternal life?
A: This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he hath sent, John 6:29; the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, Romans 6:23.

Q: Is this gift truly eternal? Can I "fall away?"
A: He that believeth on me is not condemned...he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, John 3:18; 5:24. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, Romans 11:29.

Q: Must I be baptized?
A: If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest, Acts 8:37.

Q: Does baptism save?
A: We conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law...Now to him that worketh is the reward reckoned not of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness," Romans 3:28; 4:4-5. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel (literally translated, "to evangelize by preaching the gospel"): not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God, 1st Corinthians 1:17-18.

Q: How do I know I have "savingly believed?"
A: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God, Romans 8:16. These things have I written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God," 1st John 5:13.

Q: What about Roman Catholicism? Does the church save?
A: And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world, 1st John 4:14. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved, Acts 4:12. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved, Acts 2:47. (Being saved adds one to the universal church; it is not the other way around.)

Q: Is God in all religions? Do all religions reveal God's person and will?
A: Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God...Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else, Isaiah 44:6; 45:22.

Q: Must I not be "faithful until death" to be saved?
A: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son, Revelation 21:7. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1st John 5:5. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, Galatians 2:16. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8.

Q: If my salvation is secure, why "keep the faith?"
A: And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father in heaven, Matthew 7:21. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2nd Corinthians 13:5. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be, Revelation 22:12. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire, 1st Corinthians 3:15.
