Messianic Prophecies

I have compiled a list of the Old Testament prophecies regarding Jesus' life, death, and resurrection as it was fulfilled in the New Testament. I pray that anyone viewing these fulfilled prophecies may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing have life in His name, John 20:31. The list is arranged by citing the Old Testament (OT)/then the New Testament (NT), then the subject matter as it was written in the Bible chronologically. Note that some prophecies listed consider both Jesus' first and second advent.

Prophecy is the most potent vehicle of the Bible. No other religion has prophecies foretelling the coming of Mohamed, Buddha, Zoroaster, or any other figure in history; much less fulfilled ones! The Bible is about 30% prophecy throughout its pages, and those regarding the first advent of our Lord proved 100% accurate. What does that tell us about His Second Coming? The verity of the first advent is evidence of the reality and certainty of His Second Coming in power and glory. Even so, Amen Lord.

Prophetic list cited from The Strongest Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. Minor alterations have been inserted by myself where clarification was needed. I have removed reduntant passages of Scripture which contained very similar or identical promises of God throughout the Old Testament, which would have increased the size of this list considerably. But these are given so you may search the Scriptures as to whether these things are so, and that you may believe on Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

  1. The Baha'i religion had some prophecies about what a man called the Bab would do. Reading the list, a young man stated he thought he could so the proclaimed him to be the Bab. When he made prophecies, they couldn't understand him so his sayings have been forgotten.

Baha'i religion was started by people trying to form a religion acceptable to both Muslims and "Christians", and tried to copy both. They are now very ecumenical with a small membership.

Satan couldn't produce a very good copy, because he isn't God. He had to just produce a list that somebody might be able to do. That's not really even a prophecy. Every one of Satan's attempts to make a substitute religion runs into the same deficiency.

Our God is so much greater, it makes you wonder why people choose to believe the things they do.

  2. I had actually forgotten Baha'i. My parents know a couple who practice it here in Duluth. If I recall there were supposed to be nine great Messiahs through history, including Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha, Krishna, etc. The final, their founder, was the last and greatest (go figure...) They use John's prophecies about the forthcoming Holy Spirit to "prove" this; but so did the Muslims with Mohamed.

You are completely correct; Baha'i fits right into the "Coexist" mantra so insanely popular today. I'm surprised it isn't a spearhead in the movement.
